He's smoking something.
Should they actually be allowed to sell it? I read the description and it sounds like the money will be going to a good cause with the donations but a little part of me still thinks that they are just cashing in for something that shouldn't be about money but the honour of being picked to take part!
Bargain! I'll take three please.
I've already got one, thanks.
I'll give you £1.45p for it JJ
A bit more discussion here...

Okay, deal.

It's like in that Monty Python film ...

Will you join our search for the Holy Grail?

Tell him we've already got one.

What did they say?

They said they've already got on, Sire.

There's loads of them on there! I think it's disgraceful. These people were chosen because they've made a contribution to their local community, not so they could sell the torches and earn themselves a massive lump of cash!
Sure, some of them are giving a percentage to charity, but I still don't think it's right. They should give ALL the money to charity!

On another note, if the flame is anywhere near you, then be sure to go along and get as many bottles of the promotional coca cola that they're giving away on the stands. They're being sold (empty) on Ebay too. £30 for 4... not quite the same as the torch, but still ridiculous!

Weirdly, there's bidding (currently over £1,000) going on for a "photo of the torch being carried". WHAT?!!!!
What we should all ask ourselves hand on heart is that if we had a torch that some idiot would pay £150,000 for would we give the 150 big ones away?

My answer for one is a definate 150,000% NO!

Commoner, I'm going to see the torch this week. I'm now seriously thinking about taking my bike, and doing a hit and run! ;p
lol...make it a tandem and I'll join you 60/40 shares to you as you thought of it.....;-))

Deal!! :-)

Wrong.
Just heard on the News that the relay had to be stopped somewhere in Devon 'cause the torch went out and had to be relit, I reckon that one should go for half price!
A woman on TV this morning said she'd sold hers for £153,000 which she'l give to charity. She hasn't run yet.

How does anyone know that they'll get the money if they sell on e-bay? Even normal auction houses can't guarantee that. The Chinese ceramic that sold for millions in a provincial house last year, had not, when last heard, been paid for.
"the torch went out and had to be relit"

In that case, it's not the same flame that started in Greece.

I think they need to go back to Greece and start again.

You can't say the flame was carried all the way from Athens to London if it's a new flame that started in Devon!
If that is true about the coke bottles then when it comes to my town soon then i am grabbing as many as possible! Can't pay a student loan off with thin air!
Jayne, when th flame was llit in greece they also lit four "special lanterns" really Davy Lamps with a hole drilled through it so that if the flame went out for any reason it could be relit and still maintain the integraty of the relay.
