Just heard on the news that 40,000 public sector workers went on strike today, did the Country grind to a halt?
What does this tell you about the puplic sector?

I think credit where credits due....just think how much they saved the country in giving up a days pay. If they carry on the deficit will be wiped out in no time!!!

just seen it on the news myself cant say Id noticed.
it didn't grind to a halt as far as i could tell.
On the BBC website "Hundreds of thousands of public sector workers are taking part in a 24-hour UK-wide strike in a dispute with the government over pension changes."
There is actually only enough work to fill 4 days of each week?
yes, I went to the British Museum and many rooms were closed. I wished the rest the best of luck with their protests.
I didn't notice. Hardly anyone would for a single day, but we all would if it lasted more than a week.
Unfortunately although they all come under the umbrella of "Public Sector" how can you compare petty little pen pushers in most council offices in created P.C. non jobs with invaluable nurses ?
None of us in our part of the NHS were on strike, we've got too much to do at the moment.
According to Private Eye, 214,000 jobs in local government were lost during 2011 as a result of the cuts.

I wonder what these 214,000 people actually did during the working week?
