That's good ummmmm. But in a situation where there are no grandparents, uncles or aunts, and all other things being equal, do you think it would be preferable for a child to have two parents of the same sex, or two parents of a different sexes? I think the latter.

It is swings and roundabouts, one could say are children from a very poor family at a disadvantage? Of course they are in some aspects, so the same could be said for children of same sex parents.

Love and romance are different. To me anyway. For me to enjoy sex it has to be with someone I love....but they don't have to constantly loving. It's a whole package. You can tell when someone loves you by their day to day behaviour. What happens in the bedroom can be loving but it can also just be an urge...where love isn't thought about.

I have no strong feelings about the "sex" of the parents, just so long as they are a loving couple. My only concern in this case would be that the child/children would be brought up in the care of nannies and be sent to boarding schools because of the parents' lifestyles which involves lots of travel. Remember seeing the Queen coming back from a long trip and greeting Prince Charles with a handshake!! Having said that, Diana was very "hands on" so maybe the times they are a changing.

That was my suggestion of a thread simply mirrored around your statement about love, romance, and sex, it was in no way my view on love, romance and sex.

I agree with the first sentence of your statement, but then after that you lost me completely???????????????

Almost like saying by tidying up in the bedroom after the mess the one you love had made, was simply an act of love.

But then again it could just be an urge to keep things nice and tidy, without a single thought about love in one's mind. :0)

Because people have sex just because they enjoy it. There doesn't have to be a romantic build up. When you have kids at home sometimes you just grab the opportunity if they've gone out.

People display love and affection without expecting sex from it.

It's very hard to explain :-)

sir.prize, by 'pathetic' do you mean 'evoking sympathy' or 'ludicrously or contemptibly uninteresting or worthless', or one of the other definitions of the word?
I'm with you if it's 'ludicrously uninteresting'. The law allows and people tolerate homosexual couples having children by surrogacy, as they tolerate heterosexual couples doing so. It's natural for a couple to want a second child as a brother or sister to the first, thinking that, apart from anything else, an only child will not be as happy as a sibling.
If the age of the couple here is the concern, well, yes, they are both of an age when a woman would not be becoming a parent and one parent would be quite young. But that was the case with the first child. Why is it a matter of news and comment now?.
