aog, it appears that if you leave a space between the body of the text and the square brackets, the system works
Oh, this makes me so sad.

Sad that people still feel the need and think it's ok to make vile comments about two loving parents who want the best for their children, just because both parents happen to be male.
Evian...do you think there might be a bit of envy involved?
AOG, //but money does not bring happiness. //

On the whole, neither do orphanages. I have two gay friends (male) who have adopted two little children – and those kids couldn’t be more loved.

From Flip_Flop. //It isn't homophobic to hold this opinion, and anybody who thinks it is homophobic doesn't really understand what homophobia is.//

I agree entirely. The word ‘homophobia’, just like the word ‘racist’ is bandied around all too easily now in an effort to shut other people up. Some people believe children are better raised by a man and a woman, that’s all. That doesn’t make them ‘homophobic’.
Maybe. Not that they would ever admit that.
I wasn't going to join in this thread originally because I don't really have a definite view on it but what I do know is that any children of Elton and David will not have a 'normal' upbringing anyway because of the wealth, fame aspect etc.
I really cannot see either of them walking this little boy to school as other Mums and Dad's do so I do wonder what sort of person he will grow up to be but having said this, he won't know any different until the day comes when he will question why he has 2 'Daddies' when the majority of children have a Mum and Dad.
Will the fact that he has 2 famous Daddies have an affect on him?
Only time will tell, but if he had a sibling he would have someone to share his 'different' upbringing with and this might help, or, it could actually mean 2 mixed up kids instead of 1.
My friends Mum came out as gay when they were little. If they are mixed up they hide it well.

Children don't need much to thrive. Love, encouragement, attention and routines. They won't care about the sexuality of their parents if all their needs are met.
Missprim - of course the childs life will be very different to a child of mne or yours. Do you think Madonna and Guy Ritchie ever walked their son to school, or Brad and Angelina. I doubt that. That's what happens when you're uber famous. And there's probably a 10 mile driveway to the school. The circles they mix in are also probably far different to ours and probably more like their own lifestyle. It won't be odd to their children. It will be normal.
funny nobody eve asks questions like this about children being brought up fatherless because Daddy's walked out. Surely that's just as unnatural?
I agree that any child of Elton and David will grow up in a goldfish bowl all be it a luxury one and to have a sibling would be better than none. Better to have a child who has a secure home life rather than a childhood in an institution
That's what I said Evian 'they won't know any different'
Ummmm I wasn't just meaning their sexuality but their lifestyle in general.
Being the child of very famous people can quite often affect a child but they would have added the fact to that that their parents are of the same sex.
Only time will tell.
jno - put CSA into the search box.
Is it just fame? There are loads of mega-rich people on this planet.
MP - I'm don't really understand your stance on this. Are you saying because that childs parents are famous and gay he's going to grow up with some sort of problem?

I don't get it.
Love the "mixed up kids" thing. Because everyone here is so normal !
can't see anyone claiming that it's "pathetic" to be on CSA, ummmm... fancy that
[i]That's the childcare system that made the British empire great: kids living at Eton while their parents ran the Raj. Is it now so bad?[i]

Oh dear out come the history books once again, the lengths some will go to to try and prove a point.
aog, see my post at the top of this page regarding italics
No need for history books, AOG. Kids still live at Eton whilst their parents live abroad.
Yes Evian I did wonder if the fact that this child has very famous parents who are both of the same sex will have some sort of affect on him but I don't know, as I said , only time will tell, but I do realise we all live in a crazy mixed up world.
