I know it's serious for you Southern folk but spare a thought for us "Up North" It never seems to stop raining here in the N W of England. We don't have water shortages but then we don't have nice weather. I would like a drought up here this year(please) just so I can look forward to more than 5 continual, uninterrupted dry days!!!

It's spitting here.
Raining here, West Midlands.
If you have too much water we would be prepared to take some off your hands for a small fee. But we expect delivery to be included.

You can have some mate. I think there are ways of moving it from North to South via rivers and pipelines. I would much rather Mother Nature did it though and left us with a bit more dryer weather this summer.
Wales wet, again.

Also raining here in Yorkshire now. We very rarely get water restrictions, so I dont mind a bit of rain
The second Mr Craft was involved in water distribution..................I remember one summer when he sold Wales some Yorkshire Water.
It's raining here in Wiltshire today, but things are bad in my local town, Swindon. A large proportion of the town has its water supply boosted by pumping water from the River Kennet, south of the town. But all the waste water then drains into a tributary of the River Thames, north of the town. Not a drop goes back into the River Kennet, which is in a man made drought condition for a great deal of the year.
Serves all you Southerners right! I hope none of my water bill or taxes go to providing water for sprinkling the lawns of your zillion pound mansions...

Independence for the North of England!
lol @ zillion pound mansions!
Here's an interesting statistic (courtesy Private Eye)

Total capacity of Bewl Reservoir (which Southern Water is seeking a drought order to refill) = 31 billion litres

Amount of water lost by Southern Water last year in leakages = 35 billion litres.

Yes!! Lost water is a serious problem and one reason, we were told, that our bills were to rise was so they could repair mains. Ha Ha.
Yes......alright, then.......

You suvveners can have some of our lovely northern water........providing you don't mind us passing it through our kidneys, first......??? :oP
Send them some northern beer they can process their own..
LOL jth.
jack, you're too late. Londoners already drink some water originating in the South which has passed through kidneys three times, or so I've read ['So I've read': my usual reliable source!]
LoL @ Jack

"Let them drink Fosters"
"I hope none of my water bill or taxes go to providing water for sprinkling the lawns of your zillion pound mansions..."

Oh, that had me chuckling all the way over to the west wing.

I'm on the Fylde coast. I read the other day that our water supply is at 147% capacity compared to around 24% in some southern counties.
