I think she's been charged as well?

So she dropped herself in it...
Yes, it's nicely ironic that they are charging his wife as well. We would say that she cut off her nose to spite her face.
she told the truth; can't give someone a kicking for that. A shame she didn't do it earlier, that's all.

But he hasn't been charged yet, let alone found guilty.
it would be a major surprise if she didn't realise that she'd end up being charged too
"she told the truth; can't give someone a kicking for that."

She was a party to the crime (I would say allegedly, but it was she who made the allegation). She only told the truth, allegedly, after he left her.
well, that's what I'm saying, rojash, you can boo her for not telling the truth before - but not for telling it now.

(Assuming there's a word of truth in it, of course.)
What drama....She ought to turn Queen's (testify for the prosecution), if the CPS will let her. That evidence should certainly get them a result on a trial or, more likely, force a guilty plea from him. And she would have the benefit of being rewarded in a lesser sentence for her plea of guilty, admitting the offence from the start, and grassing on her ex on oath.

what a pair of numpties if found guilty....
Hell hath no fury indeed.

I know I'm going to get a kicking for this, for I can't see anything wrong in what Mrs and Mrs Huhne did (if they did it).

If Mrs Flop was caught speeding by a camera, and she was inching close to the the points limit, I'd take her points in a heartbeat.
"you can boo her for not telling the truth before - but not for telling it now. "

Sorry, I disagree. Motive is everything. If she only told the truth in order to drop her ex in it, that's morally just as bad as having lied in the first place (IMHO, of course).
but if people kept taking someones points the original person would never learn the lesson would they
"If Mrs Flop was caught speeding by a camera, and she was inching close to the the points limit, I'd take her points in a heartbeat".

And if & when Mrs Flop leaves you for a younger model what would you do then, keep stum? Specially if she was flaunting her new chap in the media and rubbing it in your face.
I have not, and no not attribute membership of the EDL to you AOG, although i acknowledge your support of their efforts against the rise of radicalism.

However, to simply oppose foreign radicalism with homegrown radicalism is hardly a solution is it. And the penchant for gaining five stone, shaving one's head, wearing a donkey jacket and obtaining tattoos and then joining a group of like-minded individuals to shout brainless abuse at an entire culture is really not getting a cohesive message across either.

The notion of 'my / our country' is, and always has been an arrant nonsense, and i hae protested against it loud on long on the News threads.

But to return to your question - i think there is merit and demerit in the survey, and human nature is to side with any evidence that bolsters an individual's personal point of view.

So once again, we must part company on our opinions, but continue to debate them - as i said, an interesting debate.
Apologies - the gremlins have posted my response to AOG's thread in News on here.
Dodger - I know its easy to say now, but I honestly think it wouldn't make any difference to me. If I agreed to do it, I wouldn't then renege on it, if for no other reason than I'd've thought it was pretty obvious to anybody with even a modicum of common sense that plod would come a-knocking on my door as an accomplice in perverting justice.
Would a few penalty points have been the end of the world?
You're clearly a better person that the ex Mrs Huhne flip_flop. Mrs Flop is a lucky woman.
Huhne has lost far more than his ex. However she will have a criminal record, she will probably get a, small, jail term, she still doesn't have her husband. Lets hope shes happy.
I keep on telling her that - not that she believes me.
