It's not cold but really damp, dark and dank so am going to light a fire - blast, have no chestnuts to roast.

It is a bright, crisp, very cold day here. I put the fire on an hour ago to chill out.

it's not cold here, just dull and damp - I like an open fire and it certainly is chaper than the central heating which I don't like very much.
We have our log burner for a year now.
Nowt like a log fire to cheer the room up and me also :-)

Yes also saves putting the heating on.

have just been monitoring the inferno in my grate - I think the term best suited is ' the fire continues to draw robustly ' - have closed the damper but fear I was a little generous with the wood. Ah well, the flames are pretty.

oh barmaid - aren't those old farmhouse inglenooks just the best - you can always toast your feeties by my fire - (plenty of heat to around just now too!)
