Simple answer no.

Longer answer....

No, as im sure his parents received the relevant bumph before he went to that particular school, and im sure somewhere in there it detailed what was and wasn't acceptable in the school. It also looks utterly ridiculous and isn't even the centre of his bonce for heavens sake.

And I agree with one of the comments underneath, his dad does look like one of The Chuckle Brothers :-)
"Head teacher Jeff Hughes said: '...and our main priority is getting their son back into school.'"

Clearly, it's not. Their main priority is to ensure that he conforms to their fashion agenda rather than his own.
And quite rightly too rojash.
Could some charity not help his mother? She seems to be dressed in rags.
yes.............. on october 31st.
"And quite rightly too rojash."
What, that the headmaster should say one thing and mean another?
No, he should have elaborated...

"My school, my rules, conform to said rules, or go elsewhere"
Apparenlty he wears it down while he's at school.

Can't see any 11 year old boy wanting that look, to be honest.
Actually it says that he doesn't wear it up like that for school, he's had it for six years and his mum asked if it would be a problem and was told 'no'. He is also a a grade A student. So yes of course he should be allowed to go to school!
If he decided that he didn't like the school uniform should he still be allowed to attend?
The rules should be adhered to. When he leaves school he can do as he pleases and dress like his parents if he likes !
"My school, my rules, conform to said rules, or go elsewhere"
As far as I'm aware, schools are owned by us, not by headmasters, and they are there to educate, not to impose arbitrary fashion standards.
They asked if his hair would be a problem and were told 'no'. He does not wear his hair like that to school.

Am I the only person who read those bits?!
he should be in school, but school rules need to be respected. if they won't follow the rules I'm sure they can go elsewhere.
But he hasn't been going to that school CD. My guess is, it was tolerated throughout primary school, however now he's moved ot senior school (he's 11) it's not acceptable at his new senior school.

I'm also willing ot guess his mum grabbed a probably harassed teacher during parents evening and was told "yes" to a question the teacher really wasn't listening to.

For a haircut that extreme (not to mention just looking plain daft) it's up to his parents to check, check and triple check that it was acceptable prior to him going.
asking if it's okay at a parent's evening is a bit too late..
So why bother with a uniform at all then rojash?

Whether we like it or not, eventually we all have to conform, be it at work or elsewhere. I have ot wear a uniform at work, can't have piercings etc- should I just ignore all this?
How exactly does his hairstyle affect his ability to learn? How does this do anything but reinforce his idea that his hairstyle is 'anti-establishment'? And even if it is particularly, why doesn't he have the right to make that statement if he wants to?

I don't think I will ever understand the rigid intolerance of being different which seems so widespread in schools.
I don't agree Boobies. They asked and were answered in the affirmative about his hair, it's not their problem if the person they asked wasn't listening. A staff member in the school gave inaccurate information and that's the fault of the school. They need to take that one on the chin and deal with it. Faid do's if the teacher had said no and the parents had still let him keep his hair, but they didn't so it's tough titties.

He's not a problem student and he shouldn't be treated as such. I think it's outrageous actually.
We'll agree to disagree Cd.

Afraid im fully in agreement with the head teacher. And the kid looks a twonk :P
