I always pay mine off.......................
or rather, don't.

I like their 'apology':

"A Downing Street aide said: "We are putting our hands up on this. It has been misinterpreted..."

In other words: We are NOT putting our hands up, it was you idiots who misunderstood us.
I can't see how he can spare the time to bother about this. After all, he's looking into the plastic bag problem as well, isn't he?
still looks like sloppy drafting to me.

i wish i could pay the bloody thing off, but before you know it another holiday or, shopping trip or car comes along and ...

just kidding, it seems a lot of people are using credit cards to pay for utilities now so just how does the silly bugger expect that to happen anytime soon ?

halfwit.
p!55 off, i say! i might feel a little less bitter about it, but barclays won't give me my ppi back which they completely mis-sold. it's only £217, but also the principle! and it's alright for someone who's married to an heiress to say that - it shows just how out of touch with 'normal' people he actually is. the conservative attitude to people who work hard and continue to struggle financially makes me want to vomit...all over his smug face x
stop beating about the bush, lcg76, tell us what you really think
Stop buying stuff on tick an pay off your debts?

I'm glad they're still the party of small business

Has the CBI commented?
euww, are you an emetophile or summink. gross.
Do you ever wonder how our parents managed?

We don't have credit cards....

Fair enough people paying bills with them....but you also see people buying stuff they can't afford.
my parents survived by only going on holiday once a year and driving around in a car that was more than 3 years old.

i know, horrendous dark ages.
my cards are paid off by direct debit automatically, so I never have to pay charges. (I got caught out once when the paper bill was held up over Christmas so my payment arrived late. Never again.)
I only pay my utilities by CC because the silly bu***rs don't charge me extra for doing so and it retains a few more meagre investment pounds to earn an even smaller meagre interest sum on the extra.
Doesn't everyone pay their CC off each month? - daft not to do so.
OMG Ankou....how sad. What a troubled upbringing :-)
No Buildersmate....cos some of us don't have CC's...
nope, i hold my hands up. i can't afford to pay off the full amount every month.

daft ? i must be.
I gave up on credit cards about nine years ago when they were the main reason for my bankruptcy, now I'm a much happier chap, not having to worry about them at all.
If people weren't mired in debt wouldn't the entire banking and credit system collapse?

>> Do you ever wonder how our parents managed? <<

lots of old people had debt not as much as today but remember one thing

lots of people on a low fixed income pay for gas and electric by credit, in the old days when they had no money for coal they would burn scrap wood to keep warm

these days most people have no choice when it gets cold they have to use gas or electric and with the prices going up all the time where are they to get the money from
He has to rewrite this part of the speech apparently, as the retail community suggested this is not the way to promote growth>
