Although not very popular on AnswerBank, it seems that most of Europe make it their number one website.

So are the users of AB not a true representation of most in Europe?

I find it hard to believe that the Daily Mail's website is more popular than news.bbc.co.uk! - But then I find it difficult to believe a lot of the Mail's claims.
It claims the Mail is the most popular newspaper website, so the bbc would be excluded.
They were careful to say "Newspaper"

I'm sure the Beeb's site gets more hits
If it's not popular with AB ers, why is it then that the daily mail website is one of the most often linked?
I have said many times, the Daily Mail web site is excellent. Very well designed, easy to navigate, lots of content and free.

I obviously object to the DMs agenda and their deliberately misleading (untrue) articles, but nothing is perfect.
Gromit's take the words right out of my mouth.
AB is representative.

The Daily Mail sell 2 million copies in a country of 60 million, so for every DM reader there are 29 who do not read it.

I read the Mail, Independent and Guardian on the pc and my phone.
All excellently designed and free.
AOG, I think you are single handedly culpable for roughly 30% of those hits thanks to your links in the news section!!
well I wasn't going to say that,but.....
They are running a 'win a cottage' competition just now - you have to type in your little code word each day. This is bound to bump up the figures.
Here's the top 100 in the UK. DM sits comfortably at no.16 overall - so yes, they're the top newspaper website.

I would suggest the only two higher news sites (as opposed to newspaper sites) are MSN, Yahoo & the BBC.

Here are the analytics for the DMOnline site: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/dailymail.co.uk# interestingly the top non-brand keywords are "Pippa Middleton" and "Ryan Giggs".

Also, anyone who has wondered about the number of Americans on the DM comments section should have a peak at the "audience" tab - your assumptions confirmed!
Why are we not on that site ABed ?
Sorry, this is the UK one: http://www.alexa.com/topsites/countries;0/GB

We're on there somewhere.... at the bottom. We get 50-odd-thousand hits a day, enough to keep the lights on, but these sites get millions a day.

Ah, you can leave a review there. Any chance you want to give us 5 stars and say we're ace?
Ed - is that 50whatever unique hits - or the same ten people repeatedly hitting the site?
Nice colour scheme back in 2002 though...

<<Although not very popular on AnswerBank, it seems that most of Europe make it their number one website.>>

Well 10% isn't 'most' is it?

<<MailOnline recorded 17.2million unique visitors to the site in June, reaching over 10 per cent of Europe’s newspaper audience.

Why can't some people interpret statistics? Or is it just a case of reporting something dishonestly in order to fulfil a pre-arranged agenda?

Quite appropriate I suppose for a question about The Daily Mail.
