Anyone have any recommendations please?
I am SO looking forward to my butler-service weekend away now, but don't want to eat at the hotel - too expensive!

Go for a nice spa in the Thermae, there's a deal that includes a meal in their restaurant.
Out of curiosity, what is butler service?
play submarines!
Sherrard, it's when the butler....services.....someone...I suppose?

it's a hotel room with a private butler service - they park your car for you, unpack your bags, take anything that needs ironing away to do, run a bath for you, bring you champagne and canapees
Question Author
canapes i mean
or even canopies....they'll keep the rain orf yer car anyway!
On a nice day a boat trip on the River Avon is extremely rleaxing and not too expensive. Go to Penteney Bridge and watch the swans and you'll see where the boats go to from there.

We did a tourist bus ride. Bath is very hilly and the bus offered a much better way to get around the sights. It takes you all over and up to The Crescent where its worth hopping off for a look round.
When are you going? One of my docs went to a spa there last week, if you're interested I can find out more for you Monday?

yes please cd - not going till sept
Pulteney Bridge (not Penteney) and the Roman Baths and the Pump Rooms are a must - as of course is the Abbey
Lucky you bednobs...
If you've a car-visit the American Museum...the only museum of American history and folk art out side the US. Well worth a visit, and with lovely grounds.

not sure how long you've got but Bradford on Avon is only a short distance from the American Museum - and is full of history with a saxon church etc
Okey cokey, will email myself a reminder now as my brain doesn't function outside of 9am - 5pm! :c)

Hi bednobs,

Sorry for the delay, I didn't go in yesterday. However got these answers for you...

'We stayed in the barcelo
Combe grove manor hotel which is also a country club/spa. It was really lovely-would def recommend-we got an amazing deal through lastminute.com -£200pp for 2nights accommodation, all our food, full access to country club and spa,2treatmenrs and champagne and chocolates on arrival. Hotel is about 3miles out of bath so very easy to get into centre too.

ps. this is where we stayed in Bath
