Read a piece in the paper the other day, that it's costing many millions to replace what thieves are stealing, like lead, copper, and that they target almost anything, as base metals can be sold on for lots of money. Church roofs for the lead are big targets, and utility companies, trains companies are having to fork out a fortune to replace copper wiring, its been cited
as one of the reasons for train delays, because the so and so's are nicking anything, and are putting their and others lives in danger going near live tracks.

tey are nicking the grids out of streets, when they go the council stick plastic ones in.
with more people coming out of work and benefit payments lowered this will only get worse

at the end of the day when you have nowt what have you got to lose

That may be true, but they are risking life and limb, and its the churches i feel sorry for, the damage can be horrendous and so costly to replace.
