It seems to me that the only one with any intelligence or decency is Rory Stewart. What do ABers think?

I agree. In a sea of idiots, shysters and charlatans he seems honest and smart. I'm not saying I share his politics , jut that I wouldn't feel embarrassed if he was PM. However, I suspect he wants to be the next PM but one rather than the winner of the current race. Which is also wise. An entertaining New Yorker interview with him here...

which of the hopefuls is most like Jim Hacker? they'll be the winner....
Question Author
Mush. I think Rory is one of the least likely winners. I'm hoping that the rest might self-destruct and leave him in charge. He's no Jim Hacker (unlike IDS) but he'd be better than the other self-serving David Brent types. (Just my personal opinion, insults welcome!)
Question Author
Sorry, I meant to type IBS! Lol.
He slipped into insulting the others and wont support a no deal which puts him at odds with many voters and MPs.
He also said last year he`d resign if knife and drugs crime didnt go down - so cant be trusted to do what he says.

Thank you Tash. I wonder what the results would be of searching the votes of Johnson, Gove, Hunt, Raab etc. I do think that Stewart is less of a robot than the rest.
Atheist, your OP is not about any of them is it?
Question Author
No, Tash, that's true. But maybe it's ok to contrast views of Stewart with views of other Tory hopefuls. If you don't think that's fair, then so be it.
If you wish to include them, then do so in the OP.
Gosh, Tashi....you're getting as bossy as Baldric... :-)
Hi gness! :-)
Hello, Patsy..... ;-)
Hello Gness, he cannot do it at the moment, he has just had a couple
of days in Hospital, home this afternoon and has been in bed since about 1600.
Atheist, I only mentioned his posture as I had been singing his praises and then saw that pic of him. It put me off him ever so slightly.
Question Author
Clover, I'm glad that it only put you off him slightly. We shouldn't judge people by photos like that. I still respect many women who go around with their bosoms exposed to the elements - even in inclement weather. It's their minds that I admire (or not), not their cleavage. At least men's manspreading cleavage doesn't usually involve bare flesh.

That’s true. It was meant in a light-hearted way, anyway. I just thought I’d post it as he was being discussed and I thought it was quite funny.

You're nice, Clover. X
