//George was actually taken on his first grouse shoot on Friday. //

Not much we can do about it, is there?
...and the princess is learning to ride. It's what they do.
Theres something psychotic about people who enjoy killing wildlife for fun.
I wonder if children are served it? I'm not sure I'd have liked it at that age.
Wee man has to develop hobbies to fill up the empty, pointless years stretching out before him as he waits for the big chair.

Chosen by God apparently.

Oh, so that's alright then.
Wonder if they take him out to construct stink pits(google it), and persecute birds of prey?
What's the problem? Kids are taken hunting and fishing from all sorts of backgrounds.
Canary, there are lots of things in life I and I'm sure others dislike, accepting they exist doesn't mean it's alright but I for one am not going to leap up and down or march on Parliament about it.
I'm not saying it's alright, Canary. I'm saying it's what they do.

Doesn't make it right though ummm.
Shouldn't we be bringing kids to respect wildlife, not destroy it.

Can ANYONE please explain to me what pleasure someone can get from maiming or shooting a bird?
I can't.
I can't, I have never shot a living thing - though I have been tempted.

I know people who shoot/kill/catch their own food.
Catching and killing things for food is ok. Killing things as a pastime/sport, is not.

Mind you, if I had to kill something myself, in order to eat it, I would become a vegetarian. No way could I kill another creature.

I thinks they get their 'rocks off' by killing birds and animals.
killing for food is fine, imo, just not as a hobby.

My OH was brought up fishing and shooting....They ate what they shot/caught.

I actually think that humans are natural herbivores just for this very reason. If we were 'natural' meat eaters we wouldn't think twice about killing and eating a puppy or kitten.
But a bacon sandwich DOES taste good...
Only if it's smothered in ketchup!
