80's- they were fantastic.

I'm of the mind that whichever decade you were a teen at is the decade we look at most fondly. In my case it was the 80's.
70s. There was a good mix of music then - mowtown, philadelphia, disco, funk, reggae, rock - everything.
80's for me. Duran Duran and new romantics age.

First record I ever bought though was the Jacksons, Shake your body.
the 1970s, my first record was "Never turn your back on mother earth" by Sparks. i loved all the glam rock music and then got into punk and new wave. god i'm old!!!
The 60's for me too. First record, Livin Doll by Riff Pilchard.
1950's/60's. First record: Perez Prado: Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White
the 80s, music, fashion, heart throbs were better, photo stories, it was an excellent time !!
I agree with Boo the 80's were best probably because I was a teenager. Although do have a mixed taste in music from all decades. My first record LP was a Top of the Pops compliation. I was talking about records to my Nephew and he asked me what a record was!

funnily enough I loved the 70s/80s stuff too
but the Scott, Aitken and Waterman camp, turned out a fair bit garbage
I agree there BOO, maybe because it was so carefree?
Spans a decade - Mid sixties through to the mid seventies and perhaps a bit beyond. Didn't like the 80's - Preferred the 90's.

So one special decade for me would be the 70's!

Oh dear, I can't remember. Probably something by Adam Faith or Joe Brown. Never could stand Cliff Richard!!

Mind you, my parents bought me my favourite record at the time for the 11th Birthday.
'Side Saddle' - Russ Conway :o(

The sixties was OK - along came the Stones, The Kinks, The Yardbirds and I was hooked.

when I became a Mod in the 60s I changed my allegiance to the Stones from the clean cut boys from Liverpool, yet I never could stand The Who who were the epitome of Mods
I hated Mods Bobbi!! ;o) I think I am a hippy at heart!! or a non conformist!!
70's
1st record was probably B C's " the welly boot song "
Question Author

Late 60s and the 70s were best - first record I bought was Led Zep II - ahhh the days of youth, long hair, 28" loon pants RAF greatcoat, pints of black velvet and lager and black, Tetley bitter, fish and chips in newspapers - those were the days - I remember them so well!!!
