When I open emails they don't show all the pictures and colours etc until I click the option at the top of the email to say 'show all images'.
Where do I go to change this?

Thanks.

Oh sorry Chuck! I have a hotmail account and I use Windows Live Mail to open my mail.
OK, it's either...

Click Tools > Options > Security and uncheck block images.

Or if that doesn't work you may also have to....

Click tools > options > read and uncheck read all images in plain text.

OK, I went to Tools, Options, Read but the 'read all images in plain text' is already unchecked.
That was the also might have to, How about the first thing?

Click Tools > Options > Security and uncheck block images.
Question Author
I can get to Tools, Options but then I dont have a Security tab . . .
Question Author
Oh, think I have found it Chuck.
Under Tools I found Safety Options and the Security. There is a checked box there called 'block images and other evternal content in HTML email'. Should I uncheck it?
Sorry, I was doing it from memory.

Yes thats the one.

Brilliant Chuck - v helpful as ever.
Can I try you on another question while I'm here?!

Again using Windows Live Mail, emails in my deleted file only stay there for about 5 days. Is there some way I can choose to keep them for longer or until I delete them completely?
glad it worked, for the deleted items.....

Click tools > options then click on the advanced tab, then the maintenance button towards the bottom, and the settings should be on there.

Great - I got there and could see that it was set to 5 days. However I had to click on 'Purge newsgroup messages in the background' to be able to change it to 62 days.
I then unchecked the purge blah blah option and it stayed at 62 days (even though it went back to grey again).
You reckon that is it?
No that doesn't sound right.

Do you know if it's a POP3 or a IMAP based service you are using?
Question Author
No I don't know Chuck - how would i find out?

(Sorry to be a nuisance)
