A few years back when I was young I used to listen to the radio... amd they used to play this cool record, something about a crown, which I can never find now.

I am trying to get back to my roots, see, so I need to find out what this record is/was!

Lyrics were something like this:

"I wear the crown,

You wear the crown,

We all wear the crown..."

blah blah blah anyway if anyone has any idea what song (planet) I am referring to I'd be very grateful if you could let me know, because it's a killer record, and I can't seem to find it anywhere, without knowing what it's called or how it goes!!

thanks

Might be wrong here but it could be a song called The Crown Song by Gary Byrd, contains those lyrics but has many versions.

It does sound very much like The Crown by Gary Byrd & The GB Experience, a hit from 1983, with a guest cameo appearance from Stevie Wonder.

More useless information - I don't know if it's still the case, but at the time it held the record for being the longest song ever to hit the charts, at 10 and a half minutes.

Thanks so much for the info!!  You are both correct, and I have now located it...

... and I had heard about Stevie popping in for a quick chorus!  Classic!
