We have a quiz night coming up this Friday night so...

...aswe haven't done a pub quiz in ages, can anybody tell me what sort of things we should be "boning up" on? I've got the obvious - like the periodic table, capital cities, capital states of the USA, rivers, sport (leaving this category to the blokes as it's bound to be football, tennis, Formula 1 or golf), trying to watch the news every night but what about music? It's a massive category - any help would really be appreciated. What sort of questions do Pub quizzers get asked nowadays?

TV programmes and personalities always catch me out. You might try brushing up on those.

Lead Singers or Backing Groups and One Hit Wonders are some I use now and again.

Boning up won't help could be anything - The quiz setter might even theme it.

I would suggest you read the papers - and be up to date on your soaps and reality TV :-(

The last one i went to was during camra week (campaign for real ale) so there was a round on pub stuff, like darts, the most comon pub name, the football ground with a pub on all four corners. If the night has a theme, there'll probably be a round on it.
