Not knowing which concert you mean (unless you mean the Proms trailer?) I can only assume you might mean the Theorbo(or Archlute).

mr veritas. thank you for that. i was watching/listening to the proms on the bbc when i saw this instrument. i cannot recollect seeing one before. i don't fancy carrying it home.
Nor me!
I remembered what is was because we were at the Handel concert last Wednesday evening.
A Theorbo is a forerunner of the smaller lute,and eventually was replaced by the guitar.
