i watched the first 2 episodes then decided it was too horrible to keep on watching, but flicking thru the channels last night, episode 4 was on, and i wondered what had happened with little fred and little jimmy? was anyone brave enough to watch the whole thing?

I have read the book and watched this drama. Best thing on telly for years!

The acting was superb and Freddie was really scary.

I won't go in to detail but at the end Freddie was killed by Maggie (Sister in Law) and Jimmy basically ended up being the top man after having Ossie killed in prison. You really should have braved it puzzled54, a very good adaptation of the book.

The Dvd is due for release in a few weeks, I suggest you buy it.

What a great pity you didn't carry on. I agree with Icemaiden, the best of its type I have seen for ages. I thought Freddie was a superb actor, but also his long suffering wife - terrific !!

Little Freddie noticed that his Dad cared for Little Jimmy more than him and he was jealous. So he put a plastic bag on his head and tied it with string. Although, before the ambulance arrived the Grandad removed the string so it looked like little Jimmy had put the bag over his own head. However, the Grandad told Jimmy and Freddie what little Freddie had done and Jimmy told Freddie that he was going to kill him and little Freddie. When Freddie was drunk one night, he told his wife that little Jimmy was his and she told her sister that she knew she was after Freddie, she told her that he raped her but she said she didn't believe her. Freddie came to the salon on the night Jimmy was going to kill him, he told Maggie that he was going to tell Jimmy everything, she stabbed him with her scissors and her sister came and witnessed everything. Between them they disposed of Freddie. A year passes and little Freddie has disappeard with his mum somewhere unknown, Maggie is pregnant again and Jimmy is now the big boss, as the Brian Cox character was murdered in prison on Jimmy's orders, as he thought he had Freddie killed - and he wanted to do it !

I've read them all.....in fact I've just finished reading Faces for the second time today. I didn' even know this had been on TV.....gutted.
