Hey there,
My boyfriend plays the drums and was in a band up until a few months ago. His drums used to be in the band's practice area (at one of the band members houses), but since they split...he's got nowhere to play them. He cant have them at his own house because they're way too loud.
I was just wondering what other options are? Are there some sort of music storage places you can rent to keep your drums there and go play whenever you want?
Any ideas would be really great
Thanks!

He could get a practice kit, or he could look at the possibility of mesh heads for his existing kit, which are much quieter. Or just get some rubber practice pads.

My bloke never plays the kit at home. Similar reasons - we have nice neighbours and no desire to upset them. However, he practices at home regularly. You see, he's a 'tapper'. He's always going around tapping his beats and rhythms, with or without sticks. He taps cushions, worktops and his own legs.

It's bloody annoying and it can't beat the real thing of course, but it's a workable compromise.
Some music studios allow you to rent storage for kits and hire rooms when you want to practice, but not sure if you could just rent the storage long term.

A look in yellow pages may help you get some contact number for music studios that you can call and ask.
You can get a permit from the police to practice for an hour per day

How would I go about getting this permit?! Do I just go into the police station and ask for one?!
