And??? I listened to this and although John Wilson is very professional his interview approach here was a bit heavy going. I'm no superstar myself and therfore unpracticed in interviews, but putting myself in Chris position I'd be stumped too if all that hit me like that. And what else can one do but to leave if you can't understand or answer the questions put to you. No way out except the door and he headed for it.
Coldplay are blandest band ever
Chris martin is possibly the most pretnetious irritating man ever to make music.

His sixrth-form poetry and saddo whining find no market with me at all but -

as a musician in a band as big as Coldplay are, he should learn to be professional and answer questions properly when given a massive audience platform like Radio 4.

If he doesn't like interviews - and plenty of musicisn don't, then don;t do them!
Oops, glitch there, i hadn't quite finished - Leonard Cohen who could write Chris Martin under the table while in a coma hardly ever gives interviews, he is a shy man and shuns the limelight, but having agreed to talk to Mark lawson, he was charming and erudite as an interview subject.

I interview musicians all the time - it is a profesional situation - no-one is going to die doing this! If you don;t understand a question, ask for it to be re-phrased, not have an attack of the vapours and walk out!

The man is a fool, and his songs stink!
Andy, you say you interview musicians all the time, what do you do for a job an what is the most interesting person you have interviewed?
Hasn't anything happened in the last three weeks? This article appeared on 13th June, so why the big fuss now?

I agree that he doesn't come across very well when being interviewed, but isn't it the norm for theses characters to throw the odd hissy fit now and again?

For my money, Coldplay are the best band around (alongside Radiohead), and I shall continue to enjoy his music.

In my opinion (and, it is all about opinions) he will lose little sleep over what certain subscribers to the Answerbank think of him.
Hi Homer 55

I have a 'day job', but in my spare time, I am a music journalist for a vast range of magazines - everything from extreme metal to teen pop. i also contribute to a number of musicians' magazines involving drums, bass, and guitars.

I also do mainstream features for women's magazines.

Most interesting?

Quentin Crisp by a mile. I used to call him in New York for a chat, and I always wish I had a pad and pen handy - everything he said made me want to remember his words so i could quote him. What a lovely man, I am so sad he is gone, I miss him frequently.
