I took a bus from Brisbane to Sydney, dozed off, and woke up as we were crossing the Harbour Bridge. I opened my eyes to see the Harbour, with the early-morning sun glinting off the water, the opera house and the CBD, with the iron bars of the bridge whizzing past the window. I almost cried - spent years wanting to go there, and there it all was, right in front of me. If I'd sat on the other side of the bus, I wouldn't have had that view. Thinking about it now gives me goosebumps.
