As I always say, 'best' is a matter of opinion, 'biggest' is a matter of fact. So the biggest female artist in the nineties is Mariah Carey who has consistently outsold every other artist throughout the decade. Best - and this is my opinion here, is Madonna, who continues to re-invent herself and remain ahead of the game byt choosing clever material and image to always give her fans something new. Personally, I really like Kylie, who has been sensible enough to return to what she does best - pure pop music, and she does it very well. Anyone else agree ... or not?

Sorry, kylie comes under the heading of synthetic Australian B*mbette. Nice to look at, not to listen to. Best is a subjective thing. My vote would be Eddie Reader but who am I to judge. What about best female artist in her nineties? Cher? Vera Lynn?
