has anybody got any info on the additions plus account. i have heard that you pay around 12.00 per month and then get many extra, i.e. free yearly insurance. car breakdown etc. thank you. we are both seniors and not sure if it is for us.

thank you . i will try , but i was told it was with Lloyds.perhaps Barclays do it also.
Why don't you look at the Lloyds' site?

I have just read the Lloyd's 'gold' benefits

Travel insurance - you must both be under 80 and inform them of any medical conditions

You would be covered for car breakdown at basic cover - you can get similar cover elsewhere for around 30. So if you are currently paying more than 114 for travel insurance it might be worth your while - but contact them first if you have medical problems or health issues that could affect your eligibiltiy.

The other benefits are ornamental frills in my opinion.

we are with lloyds and pay 7 pounds a month for extra benefits such as mobile fone insurance aa basic cover which hubby used first time on friday this was excellent service we are also covered for credit card identity theft so please concider this its very good service and its onlty seven pounds hope this helps look on the lloyds site
Think about it carefully. We had a Barclays Additions account and only once had occasion to use any of the "benefits" we were paying for. And even that involved off the cuff advice on a lost?stolen wallet - we could have got the same from a credit card company for free. We were paying 8pm (I hear it's 12 now!) for the "benefits" and 6pm for running the account (which we manged quite happily without their help!) and got something like 0.0000001% interest. If you're going to use a good number of the benefits, all well and good. We're now with an internet bank who pay us 3.75% interest and all they ever charge is a penny or two if we go over our overdraft buffer!
Take care. The car caover can be obtained fairly cheaply elsewhere. The travel insurance included with these offers does not compare with travel insurance purchased from a broker or direct from an insurance company. Even if I had this account I would still purchase travel insurance when going abroad. If you have more than one holiday a year purchase an annual policy. It covers you for a year but each trip usually must last no longer than 14 days.
