Just heard on radio 2 that the Monkees- Last Train to Clarksville was a coded anti-Vietnam war song! Love learning snippets like that x

What programme did you hear that on? What time of what day? I'd like to listen back. In case I can't, what exactly was said?

Hi flipnflap. It was Stuart Maconie, this afternoon between 2 + 4.30. It was just a little comment after he played the record.x
Hi Bathsheba,
We heard that on the radio too this afternoon. As soon as Stuart Maconie mentioned it was another protest song before the song was played.
Huby and I both voiced at the same time, we were not aware that there was any connection with war.
You learn something every day. x
