I think I have bent the neck on my Fender Jaguar from either hitting it too hard or the way I store it. When I play at the 12th fret or beyond there is no longer any sustain on the notes. They seem deadened and the strings sound like they are rattling off the frets further along 18/19 etc. How do I straighten the neck? Thanks

God I wouldnt know!! It is quite common for the neck to warp though I have heard of it happening quite a bit. Id take it to a specialist and let them have a look. How long have u had it for? Where did you buy it from? Could you take it back to where you bought it from if you got it from a musical shop they could have a look at it and advice you?
I'm no guitarist, but I do know that this isn't a problem you should be attempting to sort out yourself - especially if you only think you've bent the neck. What if you haven't? What if it's just a minor hiccup? You could end up having to fork out for a new guitar if you're not careful. You need to get a properly qualified guitar tech to look at it for you and tell you exactly what's wrong and how much it'll cost you to fix it. If you don't know of one, your nearest reputable music shop should be your first port of call.
