Curses! Foiled again.
Joe Dolce "Greatest Hits"

It depends, on who'se asking! This is such a subjective concept, that any poll will give you the same response - 'Sergeant Pepper'. This proves that more Beatles fans than any other band answer opinion polls on the best album. Your best album? It's just that, your favourite.
there's always one person who says '..it depends who's asking, its subjective blah blah blah'. The whole point beale probably asked the question is because (s)he'd like an idea of what other people thought. It true that you can never say which album is best, but at least give an answer rather than the usual 'subjectivity' argument. Anyway some of my favourites, of which I personally think are 'best' albums from my lifetime are Massive Attack-Blue Lines, Prodigy- The Experience or Music for Gilted Generation (can't decide between the two), Radiohead- The Bends, Roni Size- New Forms, Rage Against the Machine- RATM, Daft Punk- Daft Punk, DJ Shadow- Endtroducing. Could go on. (its quite sad if you have one album you think is the best, means you don't listen to enough music.)
DMX - Grand Champ
Easy... Overloaded by Lacquer. A real bit of class French electronica. Go out and buy it and see for yourself !!
U2 'The Joshua Tree' and 'Four Caledar Cafe' by the Cocteau Twins.
enough piffle paffle - I put it in google and the best album ever is Abbey Road by the Beatles. There, it's on the internet so it must be true!
Appetite for destruction by Guns and Roses, followed by Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf, followed by Graceland by Paul Simon IMHO
Mine has to be - Momentary lapse of reason, Pink Floyd - it is just a superb album.
Wish you were here - Pink Floyd

It's all getting a bit classic rock round here. geedogg is in the lead so far I reckon. Won't anyone nominate Screamadelica or something?
I'm almost utterly convinced that the best album ever is Screamadelia or something.
"smell the glove" - a classic that defies the pigeon-holing genre classification that is the scourge of the industry. an album for all seasons, a record of the people FOR the people.

I knew it! Jenstar, you are a hero.
Pet sounds - The beach boys. Is this it - The strokes. In utero - Nirvana. Rubber Soul - The Beatles. Definitely maybe - Oasis.
Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. Can't decide which!!
Bjork - Homogenic and Vespertine The Doors - Morrison Hotel Radiohead - The Bends Bent - Everlasting Blink But again, it changes with my mood - but for the moment, these are my faves!
