Not by the Beatles themselves, but many instrumental cover versions have been done by 'easy listening' artists like James Last, Bert Kaempfert, etc. These usually end up as the cheesy music played in lifts or supermarkets. Sacriledge!

thanks but that is not what I'm after..back in the late 60's /early 70's there was an intrumental version which was effectively the backing track...I'm trying to locate it...

back in the 70's i had a tape and it was the original version when u played it on a stereo with headphones the music was pretty much in one ear and the vocals n the other.....I wonder if that is any help?
