what's this tune?

I was in Malia July 2007 and heard some great tunes in evry bar i went in!

one of them i was told by a dj is called the broomstick song by 'miche', but i cant find it anywhere!

anouther had lyrics along the lines of... "now you're gone, i've been waiting here by the p[hone, with you're picture hanging on the wall, now you're gone".

anouther kept repeating... "uptown, downtown, turn the beat around town, pumping, keep pumping, to the sound of the new york city beats" or something like that?!

please help me find these tunes, they are brilliant!

Also, that Broomstick song may be by Scott Brown - Sonic Brromstick. I actually have that on vinyl/record.
