Perhaps "Christmas For Space" by Universal Energy...

This was a 7" single by an act called Universal Energy, and the track was also called Universal Energy. It was issued on Harvest in 1977 (I don't have the catalogue no. to hand, but I have it at home). The members were 2 French guys called Bernard Estardy and Jean-Pierre Bourtayre, and they don't seem to have issued any other records - although if you Google search on the first name, there are several sites which list many more compositions by him, but heaven knows if they're available! It's still quite easy to find copies of this single - there are lots listed on Netsoundsmusic.com for no great price. There seems to have been a 5-track album, which included the 7" tracks, as well - but this is extremely rare, and I would dearly like to own a copy. Neither the album nor the tracks on the single have made it to CD yet, but I'm sure it will show up eventually - just keep looking and one day you will find!
