Music Genres

I am looking for music genres/styles/artists/groups which cover some of the following criterea. Critically this needs to be cool, chilled out lounge music. I need funky, soft, unaffessive mellow beats. Limited vocals preferable. Hints of jazz or electronica would be nice. Atmospheric easy listening cool loungey music is what I'm after. Ideally I need this for background music to chill out to. Even if this genre/artist/group or whatever is "experiemental".

Try www.pandora.com and type in one song you know that is in the style of what you are looking for and it will suggest other similar songs. Another ABer gave me this website yesterday and I have found it helpful.

What you need, my friend, is Jazz. Bit of early swing or bebop would be a good place to start.

Thank you all very much for suggestions. I'm going to do a bit of reserach into Jazz side of things I think. However, I fear that whatever I am looking for (I don't really have a clue what) may require a regular beat which I don't associate with Jazz. But anyway, I'll soon find out. Thanks again.
