Could somebody please explain the differences between,R & B,garage,house ,dance music etc.

Not alot. Its more to with the BPM's (speed of the music) and the over all sound used. As for R &B....doesn't that stand for "Rhythm and Blues" I always thought that ment upbeat music that combined jazz, gospel, and blues.

Kev, Rhythm and Blues and contemporary R'N'B are 2 slightly different genres. R'N'B in this case is no longer used as an acronym.
