whats the actual difference between a cold and the flu

I have been ill for over a week stuck in bed 4 day stuck at home on sofa the rest, still feel bad, can't breath at all. Had lots of aches and pains/symptoms constant coughing. Bf says I have a cold but a cold doesn't sound right when you've been knocked for six for a week and half?

Is there an actual distinction between cold and flu? Is a flu stomach related?

I meant to say earlier I had a cold at the beginning of January and it lasted a month and 3 lots of antibiotics. It sounds like you have a bad cold what..the?. Just make sure you drink plenty, take paracetamol and get to the docs if you start to feel worse. Hope you feel better soon xx

I had similar last week, I had never had anything so bad, stomach upset, diarrhoea, nausea and the most awful barking cough ever! I still have a bit of a chesty cough but its gradually going (I hope) its taken 9 days so my sympathies are with you what..the, I'm afraid you will just have to be patient though, its a pretty vicious bug going around. :(

Only had flu once. Lying in bed and really suffering when there was a great banging on the door and a voice shouting, "Police. Open up!" Dragged myself to the door. That was the last thing I remembered until I came around, having been carried back to bed by a very embarrassed policeman. They had the wrong flat.
