this is rather brave and bold statement but i prefer the cover dancey version by dj sammy and im an old geezer who remembers the original!!


what about everyone else and why?

Polar opposite opinion here. I utterly loathe everything DJ Sammy has done - riding on the back of an established artist by re-vamping a hit song as a dance mix is not big or clever - but it is undeinably successful.


That said, I utterly adore Scissor Sisters' re-working of Comfortably Numb but that's because they inject a degree of affection and humour into it, and it stands as part of a body of original work that the likes of DJ Sammy can only ever dream of.

Got to be the magnificent Don Henley each time for me. I'm a massive fan of The Eagles and quite frankly I think DJ Whatserface should be put up against a wall and shot for what she did to that record- rofl!

I personally hate the cover version of comfortably numb by the scissor sisters!! and them in general but i have been brave and said i prefer DJ Sammy version please be gentle

In the DJ Sammy version the lyrics are sung way too slow and also by a female and the point of the song is the bloke is singing about women with sunglasses on so kinda looses the essence....

Some of DJ Sammy's work with Loona was quite appealing, although it got very little coverage in the UK; Hijo de la Luna, for instance.
