I used to get a chocolate bar about 15 years ago(!). It was soft pink stuff in the centre and covered in chocolate. It was called 'delight' and was absoloutely devine! Anyone remember it or seen it anywhere recently? (ps NOT Turkish Delight!!)

Sounds like Turkish Delight.

Definately not Turkish Delight. The centre was a very pale pink colour and had a creamy texture.

I remember it- and I thought I was the only one!!

I think it may have been called "Delite" rather than "delight". It was lush. Such a shame it no longer exists!

Was it quite small. with a pink fondant centre. I'm sure you can still get it, but it's quite rare.

I'm also thinking about a small fish thingy that curls up in your hand - but I'm not sure if it's related.

I think you are all wrong. I think you are talking about Jamesons Ruffle. You can still buy them in Scotland and if you do a google you can buy them on the net.

Ruffle - That's what I'm thinking of!!!!!

Cheers Gary

No Gary, it's not ruffle. That is dark choc with a bright pink centre. You can still get them. Delite/Delight was not around for long. They were rectangular, choc-bar sized, quite light (in weight) and were basically chocolate with this weird light pink, very smooth and a bit crunchy stuff in the middle, which was solid. They were nice, but did not have any advertising if I recall, so never got to be popular. Think they were around in the late 80s.

They sound a bit like Fry's Cream (i'm not doubting you by the way- i just dont remember Delite) do you remember them? they did a plain one, a mint one and a five centres. They were always a bit posh and grown up. I remember when my mum would give us money for sweets and pop on a Saturday night and we would get pink panther chocolate but we had to get her a Fry's cream or a Walnut Whip. Ah happy days!
I remember them, definitely as Scarlett says but I reckon it was the early 90s. Didn't like them though, they were too sickly/sweet for me. Haven't seen them for nearly 10 years I reckon.
You can still get Fry's in every newsagent!! It is one of the very few choc bars that us dairy-intolerants can eat!! I LOVED the one with diff coloured centres- wish they would bring that bacK!
Weren't they one of the first low calorie chocolate ventures? Probably why they weren't popular for long!
Rasberry Ruffles... used to be about 12p at the tuck shop. I remember coz my teacher always used to make me go and buy her one - with her money of course. ;-)

I think Scarlett is the only one who knows what Im on about. I was about 8 when my local shop stopped selling them and that was 18 years ago!!! Im gutted that they are no longer available :(
ali do you remember who made them? Cadbury's or Nestle? We could contact them if you do!
Now you mention the low calorie thing i do remember it. Its probably cos its low calorie that i never went near it - being a full bloodied man i considered it a 'birds chocolate' - likewise Frys Cream - thats why i didnt know you could still get - dont go to that section of the shelf. I must add that my mum and dad had a sweet shop throughout the 80's so i have quite an intimate knowledge of confectionery from that period. Bring back the 'cabana' and the 'nutty'.
It def wasn't low fat!!
Question Author
tasted too good to be low fat!! I think it may have been made by nestle but not sure :(
I have contacted Nestle and Cadbury's. Will let you know what they say!
Cadbury's say it's not them!
OMG I remember these too. They were in a kind of turquoise and pink wrapper. They were just a little bit bigger than a milky way but half the thickness. They had some kind of fondant in the middle which tasted great. I used to get these off of the ice cream van almost EVERY night when I was about 5 or 6 (early 80s). This really brings back good memories - wish you could still get them now!
