Mozz, see my post at 15.25. I would have put the Gershwin version on as well as it's my favourite one. I'll go and listen to it now.

Your Answer...just went to find it Barsel. Missed it first time round. hey, what's 15 or so minutes when the music is so fine? Lol I have to admit, the post nearly got the full New World Symphony, but I figured an hour was a bit too much.

Okay. I know the film was a ropey as anything, but The Phantom Menace had some of John Williams' finest work on it's soundtrack.

Howard Shore is another good example. His music for the six Middle Earth movies can be utterly sublime.

I know this isn't classed as classical but it is New Years Eve and so hope you don't mind.

Love that John Barry piece Togo. The clarinet (or is it an oboe?) is so soothing.
Me too Bobbs, although I know there are some that don't like his style, but I know my Mum would have absolutely loved him . Thanks for putting this thread on, I'm going to listen to them later when I come back on my computer. x
