Who would you choose as the best frontman of a rock or pop group, Freddie Mercury has got to be up there, Mick Jagger is a bit weird imo, he dances really strangely and he puts on a strange squeaky type voice on, but I'm pretty certain he'd be in the top 5, Roger Daltrey, Jon Bon Jovi, Liam Gallagher, Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison will be well placed, what is your favourite?

Alex Harvey was sensational, just watch framed if you have not seen it before.
I know not of those of which you speak.
My choice would be Buddy Holly.

Agreed. SAHB were criminally underrated. To be honest, I didn't really consider that whole mid-70s, punk scene (although SAHB were before that). That means Johnny Lydon, Joe Strummer and Ian Dury are all worthy of a mention too.
Blondie. (again)
Can't agree about SAHB being underrated in the slightest. They are / were very well respected by the their peers.
...or Dolores O'Riordan

I know that's been the case since Harvey passed away, but I'm not sure it was so while they were around. They certainly weren't that successful commercially. Maybe Andy can confirm that, with his background as a music journo.
Annie Lennox, Stevie Nicks and Chrissie Hynde were the best front women I ever saw.
If we're including the ladies, i think Janis Joplin, Annie Lennox and Stevie Nicks are worth a mention, alongside Debbie Harry.

Robert John Godfrey of the Enid.
You beat me to it SJ.
Karen Carpenter
Peter Cetera
Okay Jim, I stand corrected.
Judith Durham. Modest with a wonderful voice.
I'm going back a bit here, but best frontwoman I saw live was Elkie Brooks when in Vinegar Joe.
Aw! I forgot Elkie. She is a star!
Sandy Denny with the Strawbs would take some beating.
Oh too true fcc, wonderful voice;

and what about Grace Slick?
Yes, she would FCC. Good one.
