Make it you will Smow, your final act of love.x
I am awake. Can't sleep. What's wrong with your cat snowball?
Sorry smow. Won't let me type name in full
Hi ((Smow)) - I've been where you are 7 times. Sorry if this seems harsh, but 13 years old is a fine age & I truly believe the right thing to do is for you to take her back to the vet asap.

Say goodbye now & let her go peacefully, rather than in pain x
I am a cat lover, and I am sorry you have to make such a tough decision

I’m in bits . I’ve spent 24 hours feeding her fluid thru a syringe. Apart from that she is running and jumping about, purring, she just cannot eat or drink
Running & jumping about with no sustenance is more likely to be - well, panic, frankly - purring is *not* necessarily a sign that the cat's comfortable, it *could* mean it's having trouble breathing properly.

I think you know what your decision has to be - make it, please.

She’s lying next to me, on her back, legs in it and tummy tickled as she loves and so finding it so hard to comprehend that she is in pain. All I know is that she must be so hungry...
Question Author
I can’t imagine her not being In his house - I actually saw her being born.
Is your cat a bit uncomfortable, say, but, on the whole, still enjoying its life?
Or is your cat finding life difficult?

I can speak only for myself and my own particular circumstances by noting that there are at least three occasions when I (and my wife) have made the wrong decision - with the best of intentions - by prolonging our cats' suffering unnecessarily.
"...I actually saw her being born."

...And if you do the right thing, you'll see her pass on.

I hope this comes across as caring, but the written word can be misinterpreted - believe me when I say it isn't meant to make you feel bad...

...You're being - naturally - selfish, you don't want to lose a member of your family & are hanging on to every scrap of "what if?" you can. Stop. Think. Use your head, not your heart.

It hurts like a sonofabitch, but you should walk from the vet's with your head held high knowing you've done right by your friend. x
Smow sweetheart, you know what you must do. L-I-K is right. If you want to talk again you know I'm here for you. xxx
Smow, I don't know how many I have said good bye to over the years. I feel for you but love asks very hard questions of us sometimes.
Rowan that is so true!
Having been there Smow, I know how you feel.

When you know the decision is right, it’ll be the easiest one to make.
Very sad for you, Smow. I hope you and your wee furry friend find some peace.

Smow, been there many times over the years, you know what needs to be be done, just get it sorted, it's for the best.
Faced the same sort of dilemma a few years back when my cross breed dog, Molly, was so obviously in pain. She had been my faithful companion for 15 years and i just did not want to let her go. I did ask the vet if there was anything she could prescribe which would ease Molly's pain. The vet told me that my poor dog was riddled with arthritis and had also fallen victim to a disease older unspayed dogs can get which had affected internal organs. She advised me to let her go, which i did. About 18 months later, i got another dog, a Jack Russell. And, while Molly will always occupy a place in my heart, there is plenty of room there for Milo. Do the right thing for your beloved pet, Smow.
Smow you know there is no decision to make don't you. Its the last most loving thing we do for our pets, suffering so they don't have to.
Sorry you are going through this, most of us know how heartbreaking it is. What I don't get from your other thread is what has the vet actually said - just go home and let her starve to death? Surely not, the diagnosis isn't even confirmed is it? I'm sure you are doing this but not posting about it but if it were me I'd be on the phone to vets until something was done.
