Such is this man's reputation.

Wow! As a run of the mill 'plonker' (so to speak), I'm impressed!

Wow, amazing, thanks for sharing.
He's really good isn't he?

couldn't listen to more than a minute or so of it though as I found the tune/song itself boring.
Why is he a plonker?

I found it boring too but often I think you need to be there to really appreciate it.
Or Ummmm, maybe Naomi considers herself to be "an impressed run of the mill plonker".
There's some amazing talent out there, how about this for a fifteen year old?

ummmm, playing guitar, I'm a run of the mill 'plonker'.

I think this man was seen playing his guitar in one of Michael Portillo's European rail journeys. I can't remember where, but a city in Eastern Europe. My husband recognised him so I did a little research.
Question Author
B00, I didn't much care for the music either - but his skill is incredible.

vulcan, your link doesn't work.
If you visit any major city in Europe, you will find street musicians of this calibre playing for the crowds, so no, he is not 'the best street guitarist ever'.
Question Author
Haaa! Righto.
Naomi - I fear I may have fallen into your trap of stating something in the manner of 'That's what I believe, so that makes it a fact' - which was not my intention.

To qualify my statement - the reason why this man is not 'the best street guitarist ever' is simply because skill and appreciation are not quantifiable, so there is no 'best' - either him, or anyone else.
very impressive,
emmie - The guitarist, or my post!!!!!

Either?

Both?????

Sweeping statement if said by anyone else.

Whilst I appreciate the skill this kind of stuff bores me to tears.
I was in Cambridge once and watched a young lad of 13 or so play like Eric Clapton, which was very impressive.
I've seen videos of this chap before. Must have 'come up' when looking at street performers before. Those 'public piano' performers are an eye opener.
AH
the guitarist of course
Talbot - //Sweeping statement if said by anyone else. //

You can call it a sweeping statement by me if you wish - but I have visited a large number of European cities, and know lost of people who visited far more than I have, and the consensus of opinion agrees with what I have said.

Is there a prize for the AB'er who spots the one post I put up that you don't challenge?

Or is that as likely as blue snow ...

OK, was worth a shot x.
You must be regretting posting this, Naomi. ;-)

I did, because it was a sweeping statement.
Have I missed something, are you the only one allowed to point out sweeping statements?
