wanted know song but not artist

song was called tears on the telephone and it was a B side to a well known record but unfortunatly i cannot remember which. the song was about a little girl on the phone to her daddy. I first heard it about 28 years ago. I have since heard a song called tears on the telephone but it isnt the same song.  Cant remember many of the words but was something like 'tears on the telephone, my love im sending but not so long ago you loved me too i didnt mean to cry. then a little girl starts talking and says something like i love you too daddy

It's not Hot Chocolate. That was from 1983 and doesn't involve a little girl.

I'm pretty sure the Tears On The Telephone you're after is by Claude Francois from 1974. It's about a man phoning an ex-girlfriend whom he hasn't seen for a few years. After he's said his piece, he's surprised to find he's talking to a little girl who turns out to be his daughter

Actually, that's not quite right. He knows the little girl's his duaghter, but she doesn't know he's her dad and can't understand when he says he loves them both.
