My son is absolutely desperate to see the Foo Fighters, concert dates were recently announced for Earls Court and despite being on the website at the stroke of 9 am when the tickets went on sale we were unsuccessful in getting any. We then heard of another one night gig at Astoria in London, this time we phoned the ticket hotline again on stroke of 9am when tickets went on sale and again we were not successful, my son went on web at same time and although he got to the ordering stage, the web site was so busy it was unable to process the order. We have now heard about another date, can anyone give us tips about how to make sure we get tickets this time.

1 - keep checking regularly for when they are released

or

2 - pay a bit more but get them off ebay.last time i looked for tickets for the nec dates they were going for approx 40

I know that this isn't exactly the same as going to the actual gig, but The Foo Fighters are playing at Leeds/reading festival; on sunday at leeds and saturday at reading.Maybe you he could go to this....like ME. :-)

If you wnt you could lways try Ebay, but in my experience of going to gigs since 1981 (almost 25 years) it is always worth just turning up on the night, some venues accept return tickets, others will hve fans outside that will sell you a ticket for face value, and in the past I have had tickets just given to me by strangers/road crew etc. I went to a secret Killing Joke gig at The Barfly on Sunday, usually they play Shepherds Bush empire or Astoria type venues, 1 mate got a tick outside from a fan and 2 more were given free tickets outside.

I missed out on HIM tix for Sept but I am still going to try on the night

Keep an eye on e-bay. We went to a gig in May that would have cost us over 100 if we bought tickets from Ticketmaster. There was loads of tickets being flogged on e-bay for more than face value. BUT we waited until a week beofre the gig and got them for less than half price. As long as you don't mind risking it and hold your nerve, you could get a good deal.

Oh, that's such a shame! I am going to the Earls Court one, but didn't get tickets til well after they went on sale.

have you tried all ticket suppliers? I have found that when one has sold out there are still some on other sites. Ticketweb, ticketmaster, stargreen, seetickets, aloud.com are just a few

there is also a website www.scarletmist.com (i think) where people sell tickets for face value. I think it's just true fans who really can't get to the gig. The whole point of the website is that it's not like ebay where people often try to make money on the tickets.

thanks everyone, I don't do EBay, just don't trust it somehow. Londondave do I remember reading on one your posts that you are or were connected to the music business? is that why you get given tickets from road crew or are you just lucky!. Fingers crossed for Wednesday 31st August folks as that's when the tickets go on sale, maybe third time lucky!
they have just announced another show at Earls Court on 18th Dec.
