from a CD in my hand.. phyiscally holding the thing..
In the past I have used disk burning software to just do a "disk copy" of a "shop bought" music CD.

But you can also "rip" an audio CD to your computer as mp3 files, then "burn" a new audio CD to a blank disk from those mp3 files.
Done this myself. From CD to PC, from PC to disc. I found it quite easy and I wasn't computer savvy when I did it. Hope it goes well for you.
Note when you burn a set of mp3 files to CD don't just use the "data" option as that will just put them on the CD as mp3 files.

You need to burn them as an Audio CD.
As marj said, just rip and burn...
and as vhg said.
