I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I bought supermarket cheese, but ...

In a moment of abject laziness, I just bought some cheese from Waitrose.

The lady on the cheese counter said I could pick some little fruity things for free. How nice is that.

:0)

You know, the little quince paste and pear compote sort of things.

They came to about five pounds.

So that's paid for my Starbucks.

I do love a freebie.

There's nothing wrong with freebies JJ :)
Starbucks is always choc-a-block; is a coffee reeeely £5 ?

Some have more money than sense ;(
tambo JJ isn't refering to starbucks but Waitrose :)
Question Author
No, a coffee isn't £5

But a coffee is less than the value of my freebies, so ...

Free coffee.

:0)
I'm assuming JJ goes into starbucks to sample something of a food variety and has dodge having to go there today as she has received something free from Waitrose. Although I could be wrong and spouting absolute gibberish.
"The lady on the cheese counter said I could pick some little fruity things for free."

So you picked the young lad operating the bacon slicer :-)

Diz,
I didn't know Waitrose did Starbucks!
Why are you embarrassed to have bought cheese from Waitrose?
Baldric: I'm a little tired I don't know how to respond to that lol. Let's change the subject just this once, who's the handsome pooch worthy of avatar status this time?

That's (Big) Eddie.

Okay okay ... listen ...

I went to Waitrose.

Bought the cheese.

Got the freebies ... which saved me about £5

THEN! ... I came to Starbucks.

My coffee here was less than £5

So ... as I was already £5 up on the morning ...

... my coffee was basically free.

Ive only has Starbucks coffee a few times but to me it is not good, it just tastes burned, I do like a good coffee but certainly not Starbucks.

Ratter, It's not easy to put 'Good Coffee' and 'Starbucks' in the same sentence is it?
But.............why are you embarrassed etc.etc. ?
Question Author
I'm embarrassed because I only ever buy cheese from La Fromagerie in Marylebone, or La Cave A Fromage in Brighton.

And now I have a bag of supermarket cheese.

Aaaaagh ... I feel so dirty.

Hmm, I maybe could have found a better expression than "I feel dirty" lol
Has to be Café Nero
My daft friend is same, she saves £20 on sale goods and spends it on fripperies, lol
JJ you really are getting emotional about this. Technically you haven't saved anything as you've still had to buy the over priced beverage :p

You've gained food but not saved spondoolies.

Our Caffe Nero is on Prince Albert Street.

Named after the actual Prince, I think. Not after the willy ring. Although you never know around here.
Right well I've got to go and make some phone calls. We have a dog coming back, apparently it's eaten the owners gerbil. Humpf For Funks Sake
