downloading on spotify

i have downloaded the free 30 day premium trial on spotify. I have downloaded an album to my spotify account. What I want to do is actually download the songs to my computer. I'm guessing to do this you have to click on the little tab that says GET next to the track you want. It then asks you to enter your password to verify your purchase.

What i want to know is, even though I have signed up to a free trial, will I get charged for pressing this GET tab and then purchasing the tracks I want to my computer?

Im a tad confused as it says purchase.

So at what point do you stop paying royalties to an artist and just steal their music. If you use that argument then you must have a defined point where you change from one to the other....

In that case Chuck, I would suggest that all music videos be removed from Youtube. Why should people be able to listen to them at any time online, they should pay for the privilege.

LOL! Yes it did, 10's of thousands of people lost their jobs in the music industry.

Now the music industry has tried to reshape to the modern way of doing things. you can play a track as many times as you want on youtube and it doesn't cost YOU a penny, a fraction of a pence still gets paid to the artist and producers of the music though....

Yet.... despite the fact it doesn't cost YOU a penny to play the track as many times as you want, people still seem to want to steal it and deny the artist the payment

It's never going to stop though Chuck. I hardly make a bean from my music and regularly find it on dodgy websites and Youtube videos without getting a penny. I don't complain though and I am sure the multi-millionaires can bear the cost of extra copies of their music being listened to.

As long as these things are available for free, people will make use of that. I would suggest Spotify change to playing a 1 minute sample of the song and then say if you like it, buy it. To play the whole thing for nothing doesn't seem like very good business sense in my eyes and if I was one of the artists on there, I would be furious.

Stealing music is one of my bugbears.
If you like it so much that you want to own, blerdy well pay for it. Most tracks can be downloaded legally for 60 - 70p. I was paying that much for a single back in the 70s.

If you don't think it's worth paying for, don't steal it.
It quite fills me rage that so many people think this sort of theft is okay.

People seem to think because there is no physical medium for the music (a CD or Record) then it's fine to steal it.

Try going to the local record shop and stealing the CD or DVD instead and see how you fare then.

Nonsense, the music shop doesn't offer you the CD for free. Spotify offers their music for free.

I'm comparing stealing music from artists that have their music on spotify to stealing from anyone.

You've already said you download the music from spotify, so you are NOT listening to music ON spotify, you are listening to music you've stolen from spotify.

Nope. I don't download anything from Spotify. Never have done and probably never will. I merely use their service to play music through my PC.
