is there an idiots guide to cubase?

have the cubase programme, but don't want lots of bells and whistles, just want to record a track, play back whilst recording another etc . I did ask something similar sometime ago, but now getting frustrated with the programme.

You might find Adobe Audition (Syntrillium Cool Edit Pro) easier for just multi-tracking/processing.
not as such, but theres plenty of cubase users forums, theres loads of Youtube vids.

what exactly is the problem youre having

If you want really simple you can always use Audacity
I assumed the OP was after a free online guide.

do you not have the Cubase manual, for the basics and beyond its as good as anything else I've ever seen
