I remember him and Billy Connolly in the Humblebums - that was before Billy went off on his own and followed the comedy route. BC taught my ex to play the banjo.
Does GR have enough titles for a 'best of'. I know Baker Street was superb and he was always in demand for sessions after that but I have heard it enough times now to want to switch off when it comes on.
That's informative VHG. I know CT received a goof return when she re-recorded her vocal for a pain-killer TV ad, but was not aware she has got co-authorship for Great Gig - it is a wonderful piece of work,
Celtic Connections - Gerry Rafferty Remembered was on BBC2 Scotland on the 1st Feb. Organised by his daughter the night took you on a journey through Gerry’s career with songs ranging from his first band The Humblebums right up to his latter solo releases. Show ended with The Proclaimers, Barbara Dickson, Ron Sexsmith, Jack Bruce, Emma Pollock , Maria Muldaur, Tom Robinson, James Vincent McMorrow and the Rafferty family joining Paul Brady to sing Stealers Wheel’s biggest hit Stuck in the Middle with You. Watch it on iplayer if you can - brilliant.
