Kelly Clarkson (currently belting out her latest hit on XF), Adele... Both curve girls.

Does that make them any less worthy of stardom than their over-skinny counterparts?

I think the public place too much emphasis on physical appearance. Do you agree?

You could join us at 'Onwards and Downwards' if you like, NoMercy.
Recently, I have listened a lot to Caro Emerald - only realised the other day she is no stick insect. I couldn't give a monkeys since I think she's got a great voice.

I do think the public place too much emphasis on physical appearance, hence the initial reaction to Susan Boyle.
I think women look better with a bit of weight on.
sorry.. wrong thread ;o)

Where's joeluke.....? :o)

I think Adele and Caro Emerald are fab........since she's lost weight Alison Moyet seems to have lost her voice, too. :o(

I think it is very refreshing seeing/hearing artists who are succeeding 'in spite' of what the magazines, etc. are telling them is a preferable look.

I appreciate the invite, O G... But I am rather on the small side myself.

I think Adele and KC are both incredible vocalist. They do not deserve the censure they get.
I agree with Ummmm... they look healthy unlike some other celebs. I think it's crazy when girls like Demi Lovato are called fat.. http://www.dailymail....disorder-bulimia.html
Just look at her! I would kill for an hourglass figure like hers!!
I like to see a variety of shapes, sizes and ages on TV.

I like adele but I do worry that eventually she will give in to the pressure on her to slim down

Indeed, Cazzz. Why should she be made to feel bad about herself?
Look at Sophie Dahl....she looked way better when she was bigger.
I have always been slim, but looked much better when my face had a bit more weight to it (didn't loose it on purpose), must be getting older.
I suppose they give in to the nasty comments and drop the weight for a quiet life, a lot of people cannot bear to see larger people on TV.
All the more worthy for not trying to look like an everyday magazine model....
They are concentrating on their real talent, and it really makes a difference......
It's good to hear great music - Adele, Caro Emerald etc. instead of all the manufactured rubbish in the charts......
And besides, I'm not over keen on very thin girls :-)
I'm not entirely sure that men really like really skinny girls Bob. I'm no lightweight - more curvaceous and my man can't get enough!
Size shouldn't matter - Kiri te Kanawa was no skinny lass.
I am always told that kelly brook is a mans ideal
Musically.... who cares what any musician looks like, it's what you hear that's the important part.

Physically, people should look healthy and there's no fixed size that covers that.
Well, personally, I don't like skinny girls Barmaid,
My missus is nice and cuddly, and she never says she feels too big or too small, she's just happy how she is......
