Is anyone hacked off with the increasing price of gig tickets? I love watching live bands but the cost of buying tickets to see them is now meaning that I cant afford to do that. I wanted to see Spandau Ballet and Simple Minds at Newcastle Arena but having just checked ticket availability and seen that I'd have to pay between 40 and 60 for the priviledge. Grrrr!

If you are not to fastidious about your seats go on the night and buy a ticket outside the venue.

There is always someone who has a spare one to sell
You could try ebay for cheaper tickets, as well as sites like gumtree.

Also, there are usually loads of free gigs going on in the summer all over the UK - they're not well-known bands/artists, but usually unsigned acts, but I find these are more fun, and then you can say you saw a particular artist before they became famous!!

'OneTaste' recently held a gig in London and i think they have plans to hold more elsewhere - and its all free!!
