Last year I worked in a bar at a festival and really enjoyed myself. Are there any websites dedicated to festival jobs and how to apply to them? I know of oxfam and am looking for others.

Please forward this on to anyone you know who might be interested.

Ever dreamed of having a job that requires you to spend your evenings at gigs, your weekends at festivals and your days as part of the hottest team in music and new media? Well, here's your chance...

We are currently offering two opportunities.

1) Entry Level: Work Experience Placement

Keen to get a foot in the door of the ever competitive music/media industry? We're looking for ambitious work experience volunteers to help us over the next few months. It could potentially lead to a fully paid job...

We're currently looking for people who live in London, have a passion for festivals and music and want to get a head-start in the media industry. Ideally, you'll be in further or higher education, looking for regular work experience and the opportunity to learn more about online publishing.

You'll need confidence, initiative and an ability to pick things up quickly; be organise and demonstrate a good writing style. If you have previous journalistic or website experience, all the better, but generally we can teach you the basics of how to operate the site - what's more important is a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

We have various projects on at the moment so you can expect a varied work load, from interviewing your favourite bands to managing our festival listings, writing news and features to making the odd cup of tea (c'mon you didn't think you'd get away with it, did you?) The up-side is that you'll get to join our team at some of the UK's best festivals in the summer, including Glastonbury - provided you prove yourself, of
...cont

course.

Although you won't be paid, we intend for you to become an invaluable member of staff and there could be opportunities for paid employment later in the year. The opportunity is here for you to make the most of, and the more you put in the more enjoyable, and lucrative, it will be.

We're flexible concerning your working hours to fit in with other commitments, but please outline them clearly in your application.

Email your CV to [email protected] and include a brief covering letter, making sure you let us know the following:

- Why you want to do work experience here
- What week days would you be available to work
- How long could you commit
- Why we should give you the chance of work experience

Closing date: 20 February but the sooner the better!

2) Online sales executive: Permanent role (experience required)
To sell promotions, ad campaigns, ad space, advertorial, pitch for sponsorship and develop new business opportunities for the website. You will need to have a passion for music and a proven ability to canvass, conduct meetings, manage campaigns and get stuck into the backstage networking scene at music festivals (including Glastonbury), gigs, networking events and parties. You will need to keep an eye on both the festival and online marketplace and "work" anti-social hours meeting brand managers, agencies, PR and event/gig organisers. You will be a key member of a small team in a great location, working for a very exciting, fast growing company. Salary negotiable, depending on experience. Email CV and covering letter to this address.
